Jack, I know nothing about hardware acceleration, but I think it's something you can control from Firefox. Here are some instructions that Mozilla provided:
+++ With some graphics card and graphics driver setups, Firefox may crash or have trouble showing text or objects on pages when using hardware acceleration. You can try turning off hardware acceleration to see if it fixes the problem.
At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Firefox button and then select Options Select the Advanced panel and the General tab. Uncheck Use hardware acceleration when available. At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Firefox button and then select Exit Start Firefox the way you normally do. +++
I might mention that I do NOT have "use hardware acceleration when available" checked.

ok, i turned off hardware acceleration and went back to the same Fox video. Same error message. But thanks for trying, I can at least use IE if I think the Fox videos are important enough to see. They rarely are.
