Has anyone heard what Samsung and Google are doing about the problem with added battery usage killing batteries much sooner after upgrading to the latest Android OS Kit Kat 4.3 and 4.4? My battery now dies in at least haldf the time that it ised to.

Thanks, Jack, for posting that link. In spite of thinking that I'd already done all I could reasonably do to prolong battery life, I found parts of the article quite useful. (At the end, though, it links to an article about the five best battery savers for Android which, alas, gives little indication of why these five are better than many others, including some with higher ratings in Google Play Store.)
