I have a Dell OptiPlex 780 Windows 7 32-bit computer. I wanted to change the boot sequence, so using F2 I opened the BIOS screen. Once there, nothing works -- not my mouse, not my arrow keys on the keyboard. The menu on the left has "General" highlighted (under Settings). But I cannot get it to do anything at all.
The ESC key gives me a message: Are you sure you want to exit. There are two buttons YES and NO. The arrow keys on the keyboard work with these two buttons. I can go from YES to NO to YES with the arrow keys.
Can anyone help with this problem, please? Thank you.

Have you tried hitting Enter before using your arrow keys (Arrow keys are essentially all you can use for navigation)?

Thanks, Mark. Pressing Enter didn't work. I did a number of steps and will list them below in the event that they might be helpful to someone. I finally DID accomplish changing the boot sequence. First, I downloaded and installed a new BIOS driver (A15) from Dell. The one on the computer was A05.
After that, I again tried starting the Optiplex780 using F2 to get to the BIOS. Again, I had the same problem that nothing would work on the BIOS screen. BUT I noticed that when the screen first appeared, the first item on the left was highlighted in blue which turned to gray in a few seconds. I found that if I immediately used the arrow keys before the item turned to gray, they worked. So I entered the BIOS again and I quickly bumped down two using the down arrow to get to "Boot Sequence." The boot sequence settings appeared on the right-hand side.
I had to use the Shift+Arrow Up key to get to the items on the right. The first one in the boot sequence was now highlighted. I used the Down Arrow to get to the CD-ROM device.
I had to use Shift+Up Arrow to move the CD-ROM to first position. Once that was done, there was no way to get to the APPLY button at the bottom of the BIOS screen.
I hit the ESC key on the keyboard and was given the option to Save Changes with a YES button and NO button. This is what I used to save the changes.
I have no idea what the problem is on the BIOS screen, but am grateful that I was able to change the boot sequence to place the CD-ROM first.
