Quick Zoom
What
Using a Windows tool to zoom in with a keyboard shortcut and cancel the zoom to return to the normal screen with another keyboard shortcut.
Why
Being able to quickly increase the size of anything that displays on the screen to better read/view it, and quickly return to the normal screen will enhance your workflow and help with your eye strain.
How
Step 1 β Adjust settings of the tool
Open a Run box by right clicking the Start Menu icon and selecting Run from the WinX menu. Enter ms-settings:easeofaccess-magnifer and press the Enter key. This will open the Magnifier toolβs settings page.
In the box below Change zoom increments click the dropdown arrow and select 25%.
Under Change zoom level click the + box to change the zoom level to 125%.
Close the settings window.
Step 2 β Using Quick Zoom
To quickly zoom in press the keyboard shortcut WinKey + + (press the Win key and the + key on the number pad at the same time).
To return the screen back to normal size press the keyboard shortcut WinKey + Esc (press the Win key and the Esc key at the same time).
If the Ease of Access toolbar displays on the screen, click the β button to minimize it to the Taskbar before returning the screen back to normal. This will make the toolbar remain minimized (out of the way) the next time you use the Quick Zoom.
To move to a part of the screen that is not currently visible, move the mouse pointer to that edge of the monitor and the display of the screen will move with you, but slowly.
Comments
The increase of 25% to 125% usually is just enough enlargement to meet your needs while still being able to see the majority of what is on the Desktop. The more you increase the zoom, the less of the Desktop displays on the monitor.
