I found the closed caption on CapTel phone was useful but lost that service when I, like so many others, dropped my conventional landline in favor of cell phones. I can still use the CapTel phone but would have to buy a separate device which utilizes Bluetooth capability to produce the caption. Since I'm notoriously cheap and prefer free, I found a work around using my laptop and cell phone. Create a free Hamilton CapTel account by going to hamiltoncaptel.com/ and click on Web CapTel and Register for CapTel Account. You then create a "Call Me #" which would be the number for your cell phone. Log in to your Hamilton account and you can then receive or place calls and the caption of the other party's conversation appears on your computer screen. Slick technology for the hearing impaired!
