I am running Windows 7 Pro. The updates for April 2018 from Microsoft for Windows (excluding Office) were these 3: Update for Windows 7 (KB2952664) Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool 2018-04 Security Monthly Quality Rollup for Windows 7 for x86-based Systems (KB4093118)
I chose (check-marked) and installed the first two, restarted the computer and all went well. Now the third update is missing from my update list. I did run "check for new updates" several times and still no KB4093118. I know how to download this as a standalone. Should I just install that download and not worry why it is missing from the update list?
I cannot find that anyone else has had this problem.

Please cancel my question. After two days without the MS Update showing, I see KB4093118 again appears in the list of MS updates to be installed.

Funny you should ask about this. I have just gone through those 3 updates on an OLDer computer which creaks along with Win 7 Pro. I have it set to do updates automatically. Two days ago when I shut it down, it did an updates install -- the same 3 you mention here.
Yesterday morning, it could not boot up, and gave me the Fix this computer set of choices, including the Restore. I did a restore (prior to the updates)_ and it booted. Last night, when I shut it down, it did the "do not turn me off or pull the plug as Windows is udating..." I left it to do its stuff.
This morning, same Unable to boot. This time I did a memory check, (OK) then ran the same restore as yesterday. No go. So during the day, I did several restores, each one giving a ciriticl failure message.
Finally, when I reached the end of the restore list (a week or so ago) -- same thing, Critical failure. I clicked the Finish button (or something lke that) and went off to supper. When I came back, Windows had magically booted, and was running.
So I checked updates -- apparently it is up to date.
I turned off Automatic Updates, and turned off the scheduled daily shutdown.
The Event log shows this KB40093118 as a failed update (along with the two others you mention). I will ignore them for now.
Next step: (after virus scans and all that) will be an image backup, and a second backup of important data files. Then we will see...
To be continued, I guess!
