I recently installed a program and when I did it changed my web browser from Edge to Yahoo. I'd like to get edge back as my default web browser but I can't. I've gone to the default settings and it has Edge listed as my default web browser but Yahoo keeps coming up instead. How do I go about getting Edge back without uninstalling the program that created the problem in the first place? Thank You.

Hi Ken,
Edge is a browser, but Yahoo is a web site and not a browser. The program you installed changed your Home Page (the web page that displays when you click the browser icon (Edge) to open). I assume you wish the Edge Start page.
Open Edge and click the three dots at top right and Select Settings. Under Open with Select Start page. Close the settings menu.
The next time you open the Edge it will open with the Start page.

I tried that but it still opens with yahoo. I did noticed that when I right click on the Edge icon in the task bar to open a second browser, it opens with the Edge start page but only when I already have a browser open. If you have any other suggestions, I'd appreciate it. Thank you for your help.

Hi Ken, Since the change to the Start Page doesn't last, that means you installer a browser hijacker malware bundled with the program you recently installed. To get rid of it will take several actions....uninstall the malware, remove the browser add-on it installed, remove the Target add-on to your desktop shortcut, and change the Start page again. Rather than type the instructions for each step, I found this instructional video that demonstrates removal of this malware. The site has written instructions as well. Scroll down the page to the section labeled: Search.yahoo.com browser hijacker removal from Internet browsers:. The video below this header will show how to remove this browser hijacker. Search.yahoo.com redirect removal instructionsNote: The first part of the video explains how you got this malware and what to do in the future from getting other such bundled malware that comes with "free" software. Post back if you need further help.
