My wife's laptop wireless connection to my router shows over 100 TCP connections or attempts when the browser starts up, not before. Google chrome say that this is normal and uses negligible bandwidth. Well these connections, in total, run at about 4MB/min which over a few hours is not negligible against my limited bandwidth allowance. Anyone guess at what is happening and what I can try to fix it ? Thanks

Wish I had a better answer for you but Google claims this is necessary for their browser to work properly. This and its high memory use is why I refuse to use Chrome.
