Hi,
I have a problem with a DBF file, its corrupt and I cannot reindex. Any pointers on how to repair a file like this? There are loads of products out there but I'm looking for a recommendation - preferably free! Thanks.

Try opening the .dbf file in Excel or other program that supports opening the .dbf format. Once opened in Excel you should be able to view the file, delete any "bad data", and resave to a new name (with the .dbf extension). Also possible to create a new table with the structure of the old table, append records from the old to the new. May salvage records until the corruption is encountered. Also try DBF Recovery Toolbox - powerful tool to repair DBF files. Fix dbf files. www.oemailrecovery.com/dbf_recovery.html

Hi, Thank you for your time and great help. I really appreciate your feedback and I am very thankful for your time and support. Solved! Many thanks. How did you solve it? You should've mentioned that here. Anyway, if any user is facing corruption in DBF file created by Microsoft Visual FoxPro or any other database program, he/she must read this article - How to Repair DBF Files by Using DBF Recovery Software? There are many software vendors in the market which provide you DBF Recovery tools with demo or trial version for free evaluation. By using demo or trial version, you can see what you could possibly recover from the corrupt DBF files before you can actually pay for the software. If you're satisfied with the results, you can purchase the software. Also, you can try few freeware DBF Viewer tools. I hope the shared information would be helpful here. Thanks and best regards.
