Hi,
I'd been working on a MS Word document for 2 hours when Word crashed. When I restarted Word, all of my changes were GONE.
Can anyone tell me how to recover my temporary document? I tried to look at my Windows/Temp folder but I'm on my work computer.

Hi robertsharp,
Depending upon the version of Word you are using, you can look in Word Options, on the Save page of settings. This will tell if the Auto Recovery function is on (checked), how often an auto recovery copy is saved, and the location of where the Auto save copies are stored. Being a company PC, most likely the auto save copies are stored on a networked drive. Also if a company PC, most companies use a RAID back up system that is backups on a continual basis. If so, the system backup may have a saved copy for you; but you will have to ask your IT people to help with that.

Another way to access unsaved file is given below:- Open the Office 2010 application you were using. Open a new file or any existing file. Click the File tab. Click Info. Click Manage Versions. Click Recover Unsaved Documents if you are in Word 2010, Recover Unsaved Workbooks if you are in Excel 2010 or Recover Unsaved Presentations if you are in PowerPoint 2010. You will see the list of your unsaved files. Select the file and click Open. In the business bar at the top of the file, click Save As to save your file to your computer. If that doesn't work then there is an option to try to restore database using Word Recovery Toolbox. It is a powerful tool for data recovery. They have a demo version. So you can check it works in your situation or not. www.oemailrecovery.com/word_recovery.html
