DrMark, I read the article very quickly, but I didn't see where it determined that IE is better than Firefox. What struck me as strange is there's a subtitle in the article that says "Best web browsers: Microsoft Internet Explorer 11," but the discussion does very little to back up that claim. The subtitle is rather misleading. Also, unless I missed it in my quick reading, there's almost no discussion anywhere in the article about Firefox.
As far as I'm concerned, IE isn't even a browser I'd consider let alone prefer, since it doesn't accept the many add-ons that make most other browsers so useful.

It is a three page article and each browser (IE, Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Safari) had a full section. The comment vis a vis IE over Firefox was in the last paragraph, the summary. I believe that they were looking at browsers purely as that, just browsers, as well as for platforms for browsing and utilities, i.e., add-ons. I was a bit amused by your comment that you could never use a browser without add-ons since that is the way I use my browsers--just pretty much as browsers.

Oops, that's what I get for racing through the article: I missed the fact that there were two more pages! Oh well....
As for the add-ons, I find some indispensable: Lazarus, Linkman, and Surfulater, above all. I'd also miss some of the others, but for me compatibility with those three would be a reason to select or not select a browser.

The best browser is the one you are using. Doesn't make any difference on weather its ubuntu, firefox, google, or IE.Your using it because you feel secure with it,ease of use,and it meets your needs.I really don't care if some geek in pc land thinks my browser is number one on his list or number ten.I am the one that thinks my choice is the best for me.They are all safe reliable and fast.

Again, marck is absolutely right. The best browser is the one you like best. Oh, by the way, "ubuntu" is a Linux distro and thus operating system, not a browser.
