I had someone tell me yesterday that the more bookmarks I have in the toolbar at the top of the screen, the slower my system will run? I know 'tabs' open will do this but bookmarks?

You would need to install an awful lot of them (hundreds) to notice any difference.

It is worth remembering that each item on your computer--not just programs--such as fonts, bookmarks or favorites, desktop icons, and so on require system resources and this can have the potential to slow your computer down. As marck indicates, it generally takes large numbers but these numbers can increase faster than you realize. I once helped someone with a "slow" computer that, while having other more serious problems, had over 1,000 fonts installed and had almost 3,000 bookmarks! Our computers can easily become that spare closet that we just keep shoving things into; sometimes it is good to clean it out every now and then.

Thanks guys,
Somehow I did not think that my 26 bookmarks sitting up there waiting for me to click on them could be causing me any issues and looks like I was right. I think my friend was confusing my open tabs with my bookmarks!
