The last postings were on icons, and we did get away from the subject a bit.But isn't the heading for posting under (Everything Else) Shouldn't there be someplace where we could post about anything that comes up about anything that can be done on a pc or with a pc Its just that one thing leads to another and a lot of good ideas come from that. Now this is only my 2 cents worth,if it's worth that much.I just wonder what everyone else thinks about it?

You missed my point entirely. I merely suggested that when we start offering tips about how to do something it would be helpful if those posts also appear in the Tips forum. The original post was asking how to arrange icons on the desktop alphabetically. Once we begin discussing ways to eliminate icons or make them available in other ways (such as Dr Cards excellent post) a new thread needs to be started so that someone wanting to do that could more easily find it.
Now, as administrator of the board I will determine when we have strayed too far from the original question posted, and will simply lock the thread. I don't want to sound heavy-handed or dictatorial but having done this for years, what works best for a Bulletin Board is not always "what everyone thinks."

That is, as you earlier commented, what the "Everything Else" topic (forum) clearly states it is for. Again, I am only asking that if we start to stray from answering the original post specifically that we simply start a new thread, and/or if an answer or post might be pointing out a new or easier way to do something on a PC that we also (in addition) post that in the Tips forum. My intention is not to restrict anyone but simply make sure that postings can be easily found by topic by those who may be interested in this information in the future.
