There is a site which shows a map when I use Internet Explorer -- but I cannot get it to show using Google Chrome. I have tried everything I can think of -- disabled add-ons, checked my settings with my friend's (who does get the map), ran it on WinXP and Win 7 computers. Still no map when using Chrome! Any thoughts? Map does show in Internet Explorer 8 and IE 11 but not in Google Chrome. www.thevillages.com/aboutus/printableDirections.htm

The map doesn't show in Pale Moon 24.3.2 or Firefox 27.0.1, either. I therefore assumed that it used some ActiveX stuff that only Internet Explorer uses, but it also showed in Opera 12.16, so I'm stumped. I might add that I also tried the site in IE 11, and it didn't show. Instead, there was something at the bottom saying that only secure content is shown, along with an option to show all content. That still sounds to me as if it's an ActiveX issue, and IE11 may be set to be more secure than previous versions. I don't know, since I just very rarely use IE.

If the issue is ActiveX, it probably won't show in any version of Pale Moon or Firefox. I'm just surprised it showed in Opera 12.16 (and temporarily didn't show in IE 11).

Some tips I got from a Google search:
If you are using Chrome, Firefox or Internet Explorer, try performing an image search in Chrome’s Incognito mode, Firefox’s Private Browsing, or Internet Explorer’s InPrivate Browsing. If this fixes the problem, there could be an issue with other programs that you're running while using Google Images, such as an extension, plug-in or toolbar.
Clear your browser's cache and cookies.
Disable all browser toolbars and extensions. If you use Chrome, learn how to manage your extensions
Make sure JavaScript is enabled.
If you're behind a firewall, proxy, anti-virus, or parental control program, disable the program and try again. If this isn't possible, try contacting your network administrator.

Thanks for all the replies to this problem. I had already done almost everything Jack suggested without success. The ONE THING I didn't try was to access this site in Chrome's Incognito mode. Omigosh, the map was there!! And now, it seems to work in Chrome's regular mode. I still don't understand what happened -- but will accept the results. Many thanks. I have been fighting this problem for 3 weeks.
Perhaps this will help solve the Firefox and Pale Moon problems with the map's not showing. I don't use those browsers. Laverne
