Hi Jack,
I just finished reading the article at groovypost which was mentioned in the current NNT premium newsletter. Wow, what a horror story!! Everyone should read this but especially those who do downloads. Thanks for including this great article!
My question is -- is it OK to post that paragraph on this forum, so everybody can have the benefit of this information about CNET downloads?

OK, perhaps those who don't subscribe to NNT Premium will realize what they are missing . Here's the item you referred to: Austin Krause's article at www.groovypost.com/howto/avoid-computer-bloatware-from-cnet-download-com-crapware/?awt_l=77WVB&awt_m=3fZNPwtnjYPlpMV should be required reading for everyone before they attempt their next download of software. He provides clear illustrations that your computer is in jeopardy if you use CNET's installer for that download, as has nearly a million folks have done according to CNET's figures. Alas, that may be a million new customers for the computer repair shops.

Thanks, Jack, for posting the information. I hope that everyone who does downloads will read it. The article is also a good source of the steps to use to do a cleanup of one's computer if/when one gets crapware on his computer.
