Please excuse not being in my normal format...time crunch.
Fix “Outlook Closed while you had items open. Reopen those items from your last session?” Pop up Box
A recent upgrade to Outlook version 2306 build 16529.20154 removed the Start up options of Outlook’s General tab of Outlook Options. Many users have reported that this update causes a box to open when Outlook opens asking the question: “Outlook Closed while you had items open. Reopen those items from your last session?” even if items had not been left open in the prior session. This doesn’t prevent Outlook from operating, just a hassle. Microsoft is aware of this which involves Outlook 2019 and 2021 and hopefully will be fixed on the next update.
There is a way to stop that query box from opening by add the following new value to this Registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Preferences
New Value > DWORD (32-bit) Value = ReopenWindowsOption
Modify Value data: 1
Value data of 0 = Ask before opening / 1 = Never open / 2 = Always open Values 1 and 2 do not ask so no popup box.
